About Xsightn Photography:

Xsightn Photography is a Nigeria based fashion, wedding and lifestyle photography outfit. We love to think our approach to wedding photography is both fresh and urban. We pride ourselves of being one of the top wedding photographers in Nigeria, shooting high-end weddings for Nigerian couples based outside Nigeria. In 2010 we were privileged to shoot weddings for Nigerian brides based in the USA, UK, South Africa, Canada and Cameroon . While I started off shooting weddings, I have discovered a brand new love for fashion photography. "I love the fact that i am a wedding photographer and I feel so incredibly lucky to be able to capture and document, the memories, love, look and the happiness in my work" "I approach my wedding photography in a way that leads to an intimate and artful expression resulting in images that reflect your unique personality, capturing the natural mood of the day that will be cherished in your family for years to come." Kayode(the lead photographer) started his career in IT before training under some of the world's best known photographers. Throughout his photography career, Xsightn has developed a unique style of creating timeless imagery. He draws inspiration for everything around him, from movies and television, to literary figures and, of course, journalism. This is just a short video showing the equipments I used for Day one of my Photo assignment in Cape Town South Africa.
Video quality could have been better (This I know now). Apologies for the very loud auto focus sound from the Nikon D7000.
Hope some of you aspiring Nigerian Photographers find this useful.

My name is Kayode and I am a Lagos based Photographer.
    I love shooting weddings.

Feel free to shoot me an email at kayode@xsightn.com

Nigerian Photographer – Quick location photography gear review

    Friday, April 22nd, 2011

This is a quick video I made without really thinking about it. In this video I talk about a location photography shoot I will be having and the sort of photography equipments I usually take on such shoots.

Most of my equipments are manufactured by a company called Paul C. Buff in the USA, I ordered most of the equipments some 9 or so months ago and only just got them delivered to Lagos Nigeria a few weeks back, been using them ever since they landed. It’s extremely difficult if not damn right impossible getting great quality equipments here in Nigeria, I usually have to order most of them from the states (and at times from Hong Kong).

My camera of choice remains my trusty Nikon D700 and new sidekick, the Nikon D7000.

My name is Kayode Martins, I am a Nigerian photographer based in Lagos, Nigeria. I am available for Nigerian, African and International Photo assignments. I have a passion for Wedding Photography.

EDIT : Audio was a bit crappy so I re-encoded and re-uploaded. on the 26th of April, 2011

The Nigerian Photography Podcast – Episode Six – The one with Leye Olumide – TOWLO

podcast The Nigerian Photography Podcast – Episode Six – The one with Leye Olumide – TOWLOEpisode 6 of the Nigerian Photography Podcast features Leye Olumide, A Nigerian Engineer based in the UK. Leye has fantastic insights into the world of international photography, he bears his mind on some issues relating to wedding photography in Nigeria.

We are still recording our podcasts with basic mobile recorders, still no fancy gear yet, audacity (the free app has been pure gold).

Leye was kind enough to donate a free copy of Joe Buissink and Cohen’s new book, “Wedding photography from the heart ” to one of our listeners.

What do you need to do to get the book?

My phone rings somewhere during the recording, recognize the ringtone ? First person to post which phone model rings gets the book, its that simple. (This is a new update and a better way to give out the book in my opinion, the initially suggested method of commenting is bound to lead to some controversy i guess) So, identify the phone and win the book.

Thanks for listening and feel free to distribute and share this podcast with your friends.
