About Xsightn Photography:

Xsightn Photography is a Nigeria based fashion, wedding and lifestyle photography outfit. We love to think our approach to wedding photography is both fresh and urban. We pride ourselves of being one of the top wedding photographers in Nigeria, shooting high-end weddings for Nigerian couples based outside Nigeria. In 2010 we were privileged to shoot weddings for Nigerian brides based in the USA, UK, South Africa, Canada and Cameroon . While I started off shooting weddings, I have discovered a brand new love for fashion photography. "I love the fact that i am a wedding photographer and I feel so incredibly lucky to be able to capture and document, the memories, love, look and the happiness in my work" "I approach my wedding photography in a way that leads to an intimate and artful expression resulting in images that reflect your unique personality, capturing the natural mood of the day that will be cherished in your family for years to come." Kayode(the lead photographer) started his career in IT before training under some of the world's best known photographers. Throughout his photography career, Xsightn has developed a unique style of creating timeless imagery. He draws inspiration for everything around him, from movies and television, to literary figures and, of course, journalism. New York Model Photo shoot – By StudioMO Nigeria

    Wednesday, January 30th, 2013

I was in New York quite recently to attend to some business while I was in town I got to hangout with Steve Hardy and his crew at the Lighthouse Studios in Brooklyn New York to shoot some new models.

It was a full house with loads of photographers, makeup artists, stylist and models.

I had such a great time. Also it was a big break for me, getting to shoot outside of my comfort zone. I typically shoot mostly nigerian weddings but this time around I got to do some international fashion photography work.

The shoot was for a magazine and the theme was centered around tattoos (never seen so many tattoos in one place at the same time)

In between taking cover from the cold, I got  a few decent images and made a few friends, ( Holla Nicole !!!)

These images haven’t been properly retouched, I have just played around with colours to give them this final look.

Here are some of my images from the shoot

Need to get more gist on this shoot, head out to the Studio’s website

    Nigerian Photographer – 2012 ends

    Monday, December 31st, 2012

What a remarkable year 2012 was for us as professional Nigerian photographers. Since the transition to StudioMO, things have just gone really fast and we owe it all to the almighty God.

Our Studio has been very busy.

We finally moved into our studio facility in Magodo GRA in Lagos which by the way is only open for special projects icon smile Nigerian Photographer 2012 ends

Remember most of all my photography talk and blog post can now be found on our new StudioMO photography website here, I simply update this page just to let you guys know the Xsightn brand lives on but now as StudioMO.

Here’s a quick round up of somethings we are doing at the studio.

Below are some pictures from our last wedding of the year, the wedding of Bukky and Lekan which took place in Ikeja just over the weekend. The couple are based in Ireland and came home to tie the knots. It was a truely colourful expereince and we wish the couple a very happy married life together. Nigerian weddings are our thing, so if you have someone out of the country coming home soon to get married here in Nigeria be sure to recommend us to them, just direct them to our website and we will take it from there. or share our email info@studiomo.com.ng with them.

The pictures from the wedding below I shot entirely with a Nikon 70-200 lens and trust me when I say I didn’t miss the other lens, it all takes knowing your equipment like the back of your hands and knowing how each gear you own as Nigerian photographers would perform under different lighting conditions even without shooting test shots. Not a single image from this session was shot below iso 2000 with quite a lot even shot at iso 5000 and above. No flash was used. There are not many cameras out there than can get away with shooting useable iso 5000 and above images, so the quality of the equipment is also very important. There is a picture of me down there too which was taken by my wife at the event, hope you guys even know what I look like o…

I recently was in New York for two weeks attending film school. Fimmaking is something that we have seriously being getting interested in, the creative and expressive potentials of video as a medium are quite remarkable. I spent about two weeks in New York learning from some of the top names in the industry. We are back home with all the very top gear we need to make cinema quality productions so be sure to watch this space. This year we were also on official photography assignment in London, South Africa, Atlanta(USA) the UAE and the Gambia.

Our very first wedding photography assignment for 2013 is billed to hold in the Republic of Benin, a destination wedding to start the new year is always an awesome thing. 2013 is already looking like a lot more international engagement for  two of Nigeria’s leading photographers (us of course)

There is so much to talk about regarding our photography but head out to our new page and catch up on everything yourself.

Below are the pictures I promised you.

    God is Great

    Monday, April 23rd, 2012

Nothing as good as waking up in the morning and the very first call you receive is from a total stranger who really likes your work.

Because of my online presence I am fortunate to receive numerous emails from fans and buddying photographers who simply want to say nice work or just rub minds.

I missed a call on my phone this morning and decided to call back, the person on the other side introduced himself as a pastor and that he was calling from Ondo state.

He wanted me to know he had been on my website for the past 6 hours eating through my blog posts. He couldn’t stop showering me with praises and I felt really honored.

He went on to ask me to drop the call so he could call back (So that I wouldn’t finish my credit, I think, which was really thoughtful of  him). He called back and spent the next 15mins praying for me, I mean it was really strange and I have had the shivers all day. It was really intense prayers o, the type that combines english with yoruba.

I am only a photographer and to be getting the sort of attention I get at times is really nothing short of amazing.

I was just wanted to use this blog post not to talk photography but to thank God for my life, my family and my business and to bless all you guys out there. I pray all your heart’s desire will be met in Jesus name, Amen.

My name is Kayode, I am a leading wedding photographer based in Lagos, Nigeria.

Because a picture is worth a thousand words, here’s something I like from my collections, it’s a Nigerian bride getting ready.
