About Xsightn Photography:

Xsightn Photography is a Nigeria based fashion, wedding and lifestyle photography outfit. We love to think our approach to wedding photography is both fresh and urban. We pride ourselves of being one of the top wedding photographers in Nigeria, shooting high-end weddings for Nigerian couples based outside Nigeria. In 2010 we were privileged to shoot weddings for Nigerian brides based in the USA, UK, South Africa, Canada and Cameroon . While I started off shooting weddings, I have discovered a brand new love for fashion photography. "I love the fact that i am a wedding photographer and I feel so incredibly lucky to be able to capture and document, the memories, love, look and the happiness in my work" "I approach my wedding photography in a way that leads to an intimate and artful expression resulting in images that reflect your unique personality, capturing the natural mood of the day that will be cherished in your family for years to come." Kayode(the lead photographer) started his career in IT before training under some of the world's best known photographers. Throughout his photography career, Xsightn has developed a unique style of creating timeless imagery. He draws inspiration for everything around him, from movies and television, to literary figures and, of course, journalism. Nigerian Wedding April 2010

    Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

Been working on quite a number of Albums and haven’t had the time to actually update anything in a while. Here’s a peek into a Nigerian wedding i shot recently, April to be precise, the picture shows a Nigerian bride and groom on the dance floor, i killed all the colour to reduce the distractions and focus attention on the couple, this picture is beautiful and truely shows the emotions that flows between both couple on such a wonderful day.

    Shooting Nigerian Weddings

    Sunday, April 25th, 2010

I am writing this blog after discussing similar content with a fellow Nigerian wedding photographer based in Canada, we were sharing experiences covering weddings in Nigeria and conditions photographers in Nigeria have to contend with. The primary reason i got into wedding photography wasn’t to make money, i have always said that much.
My wedding photography business has now grown to the stage where i have the confidence and freedom to be very selective in the sort of weddings i shoot.

I do this primarily for one reason, to get the most absolutely beautiful pictures possible for the marrying couple
Quite a number of weddings you cover in Nigeria can really challenge your creativity as a Nigerian photographer so today i make my stands known on certain matters.

As a photographer i choose to be different

Xsightn will not shoot your wedding if you don’t appreciate my style of wedding photography.(This is a no brainer)It’ best to shoot events where your work is appreciated?

For all the money in the world, i will not shoot ANY wedding that restricts my direct access to the bride and groom at anytime during the ceremony. I experienced this recently, i couldn’t get close to the couple most times because they had hefty security people all over the place. It was horrible, i simply could not do great work that way.

If there will be more than 2 photographers/videographers covering your event, i most likely am not the wedding photographer for you.  I just won’t be able to cope with struggling to get the right shot.Nigerian weddings are know for having numerous photographers covering the same event, it gets very messy very fast with different photographers struggling to get a shot shot. 10 photographers + 1 couple + small venue = disaster ?

If as a bride, u want me to pose you in the manner that is now very common in Nigerian photography circles, then you are on your own am afraid. My style is purely photo journalistic, i will do the traditional group poses though. It’s quick important we are clear on this, its not really a case of i won’t but rather, i can’t. I love it when the bride is herself and i try to get her photographed in this mood.

If you don’t think a wedding photographer should have a wedding contract that should be binding or taken seriously, am not for you.

I love taking beautiful pictures of brides and grooms on their special day, if i am to give my absolute best then then i really need to shoot brides who love beautiful wedding photography.

Getting married this year ? Then give Xsightn a buzz, let’s talk, who knows, you just might be the next Xsightn bride.

    Nigerian Wedding Photographers

    Sunday, April 25th, 2010

I got into photography following and admiring the works of 3 awesome Nigerian wedding photographers based in UK and the USA, Atunbi Ilesanmi, Tunji Sarumi and Jide Alakija.
All amazing photographers belonging to the “new school” that have really raised the bar for aspiring wedding photographers in Nigeria.
Yesterday i had the esteemed honour of shooting alongside Jide Alakija and Atunbi at a massive Nigerian wedding and was as excited as a kid with candy.
Watching both guys shoot was such a big deal for me, i learnt so much watching them do their thing.
Both are down to earth, great chaps with no chip on their shoulders.
I should have a podcast featuring both photographers soon.
I look forward to collaborating with you guys on more Nigerian wedding projects in the near future.
PS: Sorry i haven’t been able to post anything new in a bit, too busy shooting beautiful Nigerian weddings
