About Xsightn Photography:

Xsightn Photography is a Nigeria based fashion, wedding and lifestyle photography outfit. We love to think our approach to wedding photography is both fresh and urban. We pride ourselves of being one of the top wedding photographers in Nigeria, shooting high-end weddings for Nigerian couples based outside Nigeria. In 2010 we were privileged to shoot weddings for Nigerian brides based in the USA, UK, South Africa, Canada and Cameroon . While I started off shooting weddings, I have discovered a brand new love for fashion photography. "I love the fact that i am a wedding photographer and I feel so incredibly lucky to be able to capture and document, the memories, love, look and the happiness in my work" "I approach my wedding photography in a way that leads to an intimate and artful expression resulting in images that reflect your unique personality, capturing the natural mood of the day that will be cherished in your family for years to come." Kayode(the lead photographer) started his career in IT before training under some of the world's best known photographers. Throughout his photography career, Xsightn has developed a unique style of creating timeless imagery. He draws inspiration for everything around him, from movies and television, to literary figures and, of course, journalism. Happy New Wedding Year !!!

    Monday, January 2nd, 2012

    Happy New Year everybody!!!!

2011 was a pretty impressive year for our wedding photography business as we continue to win our way into the hearts of many Nigerian brides. We want to say a big thank you to everyone that was part of the whole Xsightn experience and we promise to continue to exceed your expectations.

For 2012, I am praying to shoot in new markets such as Kenya, Angola and the middle east, so if you know someone getting married in those locations be sure to reach out to me.

One of the most symbolic things that happened to me personally in 2011, was the acquisition of my Nikon D3s camera. For me this is the perfect fusion of form and performance. This camera already has began to take my photography to a whole new level, I am treading in paths, I would never have dreamt of in the past thanks to the amazing craftsmanship of the great guys in Nikon. These days I am just as comfortable shooting at iso 6400 as I am at iso 200. I really cannot wait to open the 2012 wedding season shooting with this wonderful camera.

One of my mentors, Steve Jobs also passed away after a very long fight with cancer, he was an inspiration and I “gulped up” every single word he uttered. Steve Jobs is regarded by many as the man who has made the biggest impact on technology in the last decade or so.

I promise to try my very best to keep this blog as recent as possible so you all stay tuned.

And because a picture is worth a thousand words, here is a picture from a Nigerian wedding album I am currently working on.

Bridal Photo Shoot in Lagos, Nigeria – Preview

    Monday, July 4th, 2011

It’s no secret I have a sort of obsession with shooting weddings in Nigeria, from the brides, to the grooms, to the decor, to the decorations, there’s just something about Nigerian weddings that fuels me. I felt this same way years ago when I started my  journey in photography and its pretty exhilarating that several years after, the zeal, the love, the passion remains 100% intact.Recently I have been doing quite a number of  portfolio shoots for aspiring Nigerian models and I have found that to be fun as well, different models bring different “things” to the table and its alway fun trying to make the best of every models “gifts” during one of my sessions.

This particular post is a preview into a bridal photo shoot I did just recently that fused the best of both worlds together. Brides and Models.

While am still busy culling my images, am quite happy with what I think I was able to capture, am sharing 3 images right away, I went a bit artistic just because I think it works, what do you think?

Bridal photo shoot was done in collaboration with the wonderful people of Rose Blossom Bridals and The Best Western Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Rose Blossom is one of the leading names in the bridal industry when it comes to authentic and fresh bridal wears in the whole of Nigeria (Both my wife and sister had their dresses made by them, I never knew that until recently).Mrs. Elizabeth Oyeronke Sho-Silva started Rose Blossom Bridal about 10years ago at home in Nigeria. Through the years Blossom has grown from strength to strength. Much of her business was based on referrals by happy customers in Nigeria and abroad. You can find them online at www.roseblossombridal.com displaying several items. Did I happen to mention that all their dresses are 100% hand crafted ?

The Best Western Hotel, Victoria Island just opposite the bar beach is located on Ahmadu Bello Way, is part of the largest hotel chain in the world. The hotel is a beauty to behold and the view is nothing short of astonishing, with both a roof top tennis court and a swimming pool, the hotel is easily one of the most equipped in the country.
