Xsightn Photography is a Nigeria based fashion, wedding and lifestyle photography outfit. We love to think our approach to wedding photography is both fresh and urban. We pride ourselves of being one of the top wedding photographers in Nigeria, shooting high-end weddings for Nigerian couples based outside Nigeria. In 2010 we were privileged to shoot weddings for Nigerian brides based in the USA, UK, South Africa, Canada and Cameroon . While I started off shooting weddings, I have discovered a brand new love for fashion photography. "I love the fact that i am a wedding photographer and I feel so incredibly lucky to be able to capture and document, the memories, love, look and the happiness in my work" "I approach my wedding photography in a way that leads to an intimate and artful expression resulting in images that reflect your unique personality, capturing the natural mood of the day that will be cherished in your family for years to come." Kayode(the lead photographer) started his career in IT before training under some of the world's best known photographers. Throughout his photography career, Xsightn has developed a unique style of creating timeless imagery. He draws inspiration for everything around him, from movies and television, to literary figures and, of course, journalism. Thank you Nigerian Wedding Photographer

    Sunday, August 28th, 2011

Wedding photography has allowed me to meet with quite a number of deserve Nigeria families with varying interests.

Many times, I am torn between the couples decision to make me their wedding photographer and the reluctance of their parents to pay for my services when the “family photographer” can do same for next to nothing. Don’t get me wrong, I never shoot as the parent’s photographer but they usually are responsible for paying for my services (This is story for another day)

Its always a tricky one for me with the couple always seeming to win the toss.

This tends to put a bit of pressure on me during the wedding day itself, I can always almost feel their eyes on me throughout the whole day watching to see if I was indeed doing something the other photographers were not doing (I can almost imagine them saying “look he doesn’t even have a flash like the rest of the photographers”) . But that’s where it stops, when I have a camera in my hands and a bride and groom in front of me, I always going to try to do something magically. No matter the lighting or location my primary objective is to take the most remarkable, emotional pictures possible.

I got the mail from a Nigerian bride I shot recently and couldn’t help but share with you folks.

It’s letters and feedback like this that makes me absolutely love what I do – shooting Nigerian weddings.

Letters like this tells me I am touching lives with my photography, putting smiles on faces is what this business is all about after all.

    Hi Kayode

My Dad brought round our picture Dvd yesterday and we spent over 2 hrs looking at them via our tv. Pictures were excellent and Dad kept commending me on using your service, he now understand why?  (prior to the event, I was a loner in the decision as you can imagine). He was really impressed, time and time again and so are we. Many thanks once again!

    Cheers

    Letter published exactly as sent….

To the awesome bride, thank you so much for the opportunity, to your amazing parents, thank you even more for taking a “gamble” with X.

My name is Kayode and I am the lead wedding photographer for Xsightn Photography.

Xsightn specializes in shooting Nigerian weddings.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO KAYODE ?

    Thursday, August 11th, 2011

    Well, I have been busy.

Its extremeeeeeeeeee..ly difficult keeping a blog active when you always seem to be so tied up, trust me I know, I have had at least 3 other websites before this and they all died very natural deaths icon smile WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO KAYODE ? , one probably still lives on, on blogger somewhere.

Ok, so I have been busy, shooting weddings, rebranding, attending photography trainings (Will be in the UAE again in September for yet another workshop with Egyptian born, Award winning international photographer, Toufic Araman) and doing a bunch of other stuff. For me it’s so important that I keep learning and keep shooting. I could dedicate a whole month to attending photography workshops.

The rebranding bit is quite complicated and still in the works, I think the Xsightn brand is mature enough now for some much needed upgrade.

Recently we also had the very first Nigeria Photography awards and though I wasn’t apart of it, I was very impressed with the setup and execution of the award night itself, Kudos to my friend AK for putting together such a great show.

Most recently, my baby sister, Ronke tied the knots with her “buddy” of about 4 years and it was a no brainer for me on whether I was going to be shooting it or not. Both Bride and Groom are based in the UK and recently came home for the wedding. My sister is easily my biggest fan and has referred me to quite a number of Nigerian brides based in the UK.

The Nigerian traditional wedding turned out to be one of the most colourful, I have ever shot, decorations was by the amazing Tosin, easily one of the very best wedding venue decorators in Nigeria – bar none, I should know, I cover weddings every other weekend.

While the pictures are still being primed for primetime, I wanted to share just 2 images with you lot. I should have a more complete post for you in the days to come.

I will be in the sunshine state of Ondo this coming weekend to cover yet another beautiful Nigeria wedding . Olamide and Muyiwa will be tying the knots, both flew into the country already from the UK and I am super super xsighted (all pun fully intended icon smile WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO KAYODE ? .)

I have come to realise that I have quite a number of young photographers out there that admire my work, thanks guys, if you need to holla at me for just about anything photogrphy related hit me up at kayode@xsightn.com and you can be sure I will get back to you.
